Welcome back!

My Comcast TV and Internet has been shut off. Let me explain. Due to the way my pay cycles worked over the past few weeks, I had to choose to pay rent and buy groceries instead of pay the Comcast bill.

I had hoped it wouldn’t get shut off, it being the holidays and all. But sure enough, on Thursday night, while I was working, the Internet went out along with the TV. Great.

I don’t get paid until December 16th.

It’s going to be a long 12 days.

I tried to get a reprieve on Twitter by reaching out to @comcastcares. I explained that I’ve been a long time customer, love their service and don’t intend on going anywhere. I assured them the bill would be paid on the 16th. But to no avail @comcastcares doesn’t seem to care.

TV I can live without, I rarely watch it anyway. It’s the Internet that is the problem. I won’t be able to work on my web projects and build my blogs. My wife won’t be able to do her homework and it’s finals week coming up.

So, until the 16th, my only access to the Internet is via my trusty iPhone. I can blog lightly from it and I intend to write everyday until the 16th about our experience living without Comcast for so long.

Maybe we’ll find out we don’t need it after all.

I’m always game for a good laugh. So, I’ve added a few blogs to my RSS feeds to I can always stay on top of pretty funny stuff.

FAILBlog - The latest web meme is posting pictures of funny things that are obvious failures or examples of absolute stupidity. It’s always good for a good laugh.

LOLcats - Cats are always cute. Especiallly when they are doing something stupid that someone can expalin by writing poorly written English. It’s starting to get old, but it’s usually funny.

Photoshop Disasters - Examples from all over the world of idiots who thought they knew how to use Photoshop and ended up with something that’s hilarious. Sometimes you have to look closely to see what they’re talking about, but it usually never fails for a laugh.

Hot Chick with Douchebags - This site introduced by to the concept of the New Jersey Douchebag. This site is hilairous in the men it makes fun of. It’s hard to believe some of these people think they’re cool. The girls are usually nice to look at, even if they’re with morons.

Craigslist Casual Encounters Personals - Not exactly a blog but funny nonetheless. Personal ads, especially of horny desperate people, are always good for laugh. Five points for every ad you can identify as not being a prostitute or gay man.
